“Giles?” called Buffy, walking through the front door.
“Better: me,” replied Spike from the couch.
“Ugh, where’s Giles?” she asked, hanging her coat.
“At the butcher’s.”
Buffy walked to the couch, giving Spike a look of contempt. “Why are you untied?”
“I kept belting out off-key punk songs until Rupert freed me in exchange for some quiet. I earned it. And that’s not how you talk to your fiancé, missy.”
Buffy was on him in a second, pressing a stake to his chest.
“Hey!” he protested.
“Tease me again about that disgusting engagement and I dust you. Quick and painless.”
