Title: thou art my rest, my gentle peace
Author: Zdenka
Fandom: Tian Guan Ci Fu
Rating: G
Characters: Hua Cheng/Xie Lian
Challenge: Amnesty XXXVII / #38 - bliss
Warnings: none
Notes: Title from the song "Du bist die Ruh'" (by Schubert, words by Friedrich Rückert).
Summary: Hua Cheng's first night in Puqi Shrine.
Hua Cheng lay on his back on the mat, not daring to move. He could hear His Highness’s soft breathing beside him, could almost feel the warmth from his body. The two of them sharing one sleeping mat—it was almost like—he hardly dared think it—like a married couple sharing one bed. It had only been one day, but His Highness acted like he liked him, as San Lang. His Highness smiled at him.
He must be careful not to overstep, to reach for too much. If he made himself useful, perhaps His Highness would let him stay.
