He was thankful that the night was over. Dreadful nightmares, cruel pictures and, most worse, the question, if maybe he had overlooked the obvious for too long.
Two years now he was working as a profiler for the FBI, only twenty-four years old, and he had already faced countless cruelty and madness. Sometimes it was almost too much.
His thoughts wandered to Gideon, his mentor, his friend, the father he had never had. The job finally had burned him out and he had left the team. Spencer had accepted his decision, but after nights like this, he still missed him.
