Notes: Addie and Slade's dysfunctional marriage has been on my brain lately, and this is the result.
He grows more distant with each passing day.
Adeline isn’t surprised— of course she’s not, Slade always withdraws when things aren’t going his way. It’s one of the things she hates most about their marriage.
She blows up, he withdraws, and they wind up not speaking to each other for days on end unless the children are in the room.
He’ll busy himself picking up contracts for work, running away from the problem as usual. At least he’s always the first to apologize. As stubborn as he is, that alone feels like a miracle.
He’ll come back. He always does.
