The weather being somewhat improved, Holmes and I had decided we would go for an afternoon walk. On reaching the top of the hill I looked up and observed what to my mind was a distant storm cloud. I pointed it out to Holmes and without a further word we started back. In the old days, Holmes would have ignored it and strode home rapidly at the last minute, with that option no longer available we still made good progress, reaching home minutes before the storm arrived. We were both a little breathless, but dry, for which we were grateful.
