Buffy huddled on the couch, staring at the rain pouring outside the window.
Dawn sat beside her. “Buffy, talk to me. I’m starting to worry.”
“You wouldn’t understand.”
“That you’re grieving someone who… hurt you like that? Well, it’s baffling. But… I hate seeing you like this. Please?”
“Just wondering where vampires go when they…” she trailed off. “Spike had a soul. What happened to that? Where’s his spirit now?”
Dawn sighed. “When you were gone, he always said that as long as I loved you, you’d live forever in me. Do you love him?”
“Yes.”
“He’s in you, then.”
