Dawn knocked on Spike’s crypt door and waited.
He opened carefully, avoiding sunlight. “Nibblet?”
“Hi. Can I come in?”
“Do you have permission to be here?”
She rolled her eyes, pushing past him. “I don’t need permission.”
Spike closed the door. “Willow and Ta—”
“They think I’m out with Janice,” she said, sitting in his armchair. “I won’t bother you, okay? I’ll just watch TV.”
He arched his eyebrow. “And you can’t do that at home, because…”
“Everything at home reminds me of mom and Buffy,” she murmured.
He nodded, then smiled gently. “Right then. Bring some snacks next time.”
