Notes: Pain can cloud even a supernatural being's thinking, but once he has time to think, Crowley will realize Aziraphale did do it for them. Today is not that day, though. Angsty season two spoilers.
Crowley watched Aziraphale enter the elevator that was taking him from Earth. From Crowley. The door closed, carrying him back to heaven in his likely futile attempt to change it for the better, fueled by idealism and the compulsion to help that Crowley both loved and hated.
Aziraphale, driven by a sense of duty that Crowley couldn't comprehend, had left him behind and ventured into the lion's den, risking his own destruction to save the world. As if it was his sole responsibility.
Jesus was supposed to be the savior of humans.
Crowley had just wanted Aziraphale to save them.
