Written following Series 7 Episode 7 so Spoilers, but nothing specific.

 

Dr Turner collapsed onto the sofa.  He had insisted Shelagh go to bed, telling her she should get whatever sleep she could, and she had gone reluctantly, but not before making him some tea.  He drank the cup slowly, barely registering how cold it had become.  He knew he too needed sleep, but he doubted it would come; some things tore at the mind no matter how hard you sought to blank them out.  He felt so weary, drained by the emotion and the feelings of helplessness, yet he knew he would need his mental strength for the coming day.
