Chandler slumped at the kitchen table, flexing weary shoulders. His briefcase slid from weary fingers, to thump onto the floor. "God, what a day."
Monica set a dish of stew in front of him. "Wow. You look beat," she murmured, kissing the top of his head.
He slid an arm around her waist, hugging her briefly, before tucking in. "Oh, you said it. You know, when I got out of my last job and into advertising, I thought I left all this working overtime crap behind me."
"It's overrated." She sat beside him, beginning to eat from her own bowl. "How's the new ad campaign going," she asked, crumpling some crackers in to thicken the base fluid.
"Oh, I think we're really on to something," Chandler replied. His eyes began to sparkle with enthusiasm, as he leaned over to retrieve his briefcase. "I think people are really gonna go for some of the ideas we had."
Monica smiled, listening as Chandler gushed over what he and his team had come up with. From being worn to the very bone mere moments ago, he was now alert and lively, and aglow with excitement.
Overtime was well worth seeing him like this.
