“What’s wrong, Seokjin?”
“Nothing, Joonie. I just can’t shake the feeling I’m being watched.”
“It’s possible, of course. But staff did everything they could to make certain the beach was clear. I saw the reports. They were very thorough. And I can’t see anyone—even with my glasses. I think we’re alone.”
“I know. It’s silly. I should just relax. Maybe I should go for a swim.”
“I plan to. C’mon. We’re on vacation. Let’s live a little.”
“You’re right.”
As the thing which watched rose from the water, its sensors detected more than one pulse.
Good.
It was hungry.
