“Ow!” Lilia pulled her hand away, watching as the pearl of red blood welled up on her finger.
“Here, let me see,” the tone was soft, softer than Lilia had heard from her before, but when Rio reached out, Lilia snatched her hand away.
“I don’t need your creepy magic, green witch,” Lilia snapped.
Rio didn’t flinch, “You’re wounded.”
“It’s a splinter.”
Gently, Rio took Lilia’s hand in her own and, under the diviner’s dubious glare, Rio held her other hand above, compelling the small thorn from Lilia’s finger, “There.”
Lilia’s expression softened, the fight leaving her.
“Thank you Rio.”
