Hilda took a long drink and watched Xenon and Alphonse debate over their board game on the other side of the room.
She still hadn't worked out the finer points of where Xenon fit into the royal family or how nobility actually worked in Moggos, but it didn't seem to matter much. Clearly, Xenon belonged.
She never would have guessed... But Xenon seemed to like it that way. He took whatever came and rolled with it.
Hilda took another drink and flexed her arm. She could understand that...
Alphonse won, of course.
But Hilda didn't really think Xenon had lost.
