Sam passes a hand over the dining table, looking at the dust in his fingertips afterwards. The smell alone could tell him no one had been there in years.

“Natasha didn’t feel good being here while you … weren’t,” Clint explains, waiting on the doorway.

Sam would have done the same thing and never come back to Europe without Nat. This was once their home, a place filled with joy that now barely held any memory of Natasha.

“She left something for you.” Clint handed him an envelope. “It’s technically—”

“Your arrow necklace.” Sam knew.

“She wanted you to have it.”
