Summary: The Staryk lord reluctantly presents his mortal lady to his people.
The Staryk king stood before his assembled people. The mortal woman was by his side, but he did not turn to look at her. In only a moment, he must fulfill his word: name the wretched creature his lady and queen, and crown her with silver. And all of them, from lord to lowliest servant, must see his shame.
He kept his face cold and proud, revealing nothing. It was some comfort to think of the paired silver goblets waiting in his chamber. She would drink the poisoned wine, and she would die, and he would be free of her.
