Guy stood in the darkness.  The wind had got up, and the temperature had been steadily dropping since the sun had gone down.  He wrapped his cloak around his body and tried not to shiver.  The fire was enticing; the warmth hard not to resist.  And yet it was vitally important the Sheriff did not catch sight of him.  It might be possible to stay in the shadows and still get closer to the fire, but the risk of being spotted in the light of one of the flames was too great.  Guy resolved to remain shivering in the dark.
