Jack sat comfortably on the couch as his newborn baby girl slept soundly in his arms; so soft and small. She was the very image of you, her mother. The newness of fatherhood, both equally terrifying and exciting, intimidated Jack and his mind wandered; could he best his own father?

Thoughts of his parents plagued him; how he wished they were there to see this moment. He imagined their voices would cry out,

“I’m just so proud of you!”

“This is all we ever wanted for you, Jack.”

Jack knew in his heart that they were smiling down upon him.
