Notes: Quick little drabble of how Mei sees Malt's character arc in Fuga 2. (No plot spoilers). I tried to write simply to reflect Mei's young age, which was a bit of a challenge! Now on AO3!


Mei knew growing up was hard, and kids grew up differently.

Chick and Hack were the same age, incredibly. Chick didn’t play as many pranks. Chick took care of her brother. Chick credited Hanna for becoming more mature.

But Mei looked at Malt. He was growing up too, even though he was already grownup. He was growing up in scary ways. He still had kind eyes for her, yes.

But would he always, if he spent every day saying bad words and exploding bad guys? Would they... always be the bad guys?

Mei didn’t want Malt to grow up anymore.
