Leon had promised his Emperor that losing Laird would not affect his performance in battle, that he would not allow morale to be low. He had vowed to fight for Laird's memory, for a future where other young people could be together in peace.

 

That the strength of love would continue to keep him going - a love that would not fade because of something as trivial as death. 

 

And maybe he might just be able to admit to himself that there was another love out there, if he could only bring the boy round to his point of view.
