"Michael? What are you doing up so late?"
Mike looked up from his cooling cup of warm milk, to meet Peter's concerned gaze. "Oh; hi. I'm poutin', I guess," he mumbled, cinching his robe around him a bit more tightly.
"What about?" Getting a cup of his own, Peter sat down.
"How long will we have to go on like this? Scrapin' and fussin', just to make ends meet. We're never ahead for long. It wears a body out," Mike sighed.
Peter nodded. "I understand. The struggle is discouraging. But I believe in the four of us. Someday, we'll succeed."
