Inspector Japp tasted the chocolate dessert and hesitated. "This does taste almost bitter," he said. "Is someone trying to poison us?"

"Quelle idée!" Hercule Poirot exclaimed, laying down his spoon. "This has been created to perfection. The chef has not used the terrible English chocolate, with its added sweetness, but used the proper chocolate. It is parfait!"

"If you say so," Japp muttered. "I'd just be happier if we weren't here to celebrate the successful conclusion of a poisoning case."

"My dear Inspector, if you cannot tell the difference between this and an apple pie laced with cyanide, I despair!"
