It is always pleasant to see the first flowers coming up in the garden following the winter, as the snowdrops and the croci poke their heads through the cold earth. But for me, what really says that spring is on its way is the sight of the daffodils with their bright yellow petals, a sign of the returning sun. And when, a few weeks later, the primroses come out my spirits really start to lift and I know that the long awaited time for pottering around the garden has finally arrived and my other flowers will be blooming very soon.
