Gwendolyn first knew it was serious between them when she realised she could cry around him. Valkyries just didn't cry. Especially not in front of the enemy! She had cottoned on from the beginning that the situation with Oswald was a lot more complicated than just two sides, friends and enemies, right and wrong, black and white, and the only thing that made sense any more was that he loved her, she loved him and that grieving for your lost sister, a mother you never knew, was only expected from anyone who had a soul, who was not a demon.
