“How are you feeling?” Odile’s tone is gentle, but firm.

Siffrin has been bracing himself for this question. It’s their first day starting as a party of two.

He must answer honestly. He knows what happens when he hides.

“...I’m not sure. I knew you’d go your own ways, eventually. We all talked about that.”

“I’m still here,” Odile points out - tone not offended, just stating a fact.

Siffrin nods. It’s good, but scary, because it's prolonging the next - the last - goodbye.

But.... None of the goodbyes are forever, he reminds himself. He’ll keep reminding himself until the doubts stop.
