Miss Marple: At the Railway Station

Title: At the Railway Station
Fandom: Miss Marple
Rating: G

It was always hard, Miss Marple felt, saying goodbye to old friends at railway stations. At their age, one never knew if they would meet again. It wasn't that she was prone to dwelling on mortality, but with friends who one only met once a year, there were so many things which could happen in the space of twelve months. Then she gave herself a mental shake. She wasn't at the station to say goodbye to a friend, but to greet one who was coming to visit. So all the more reason to enjoy themselves while they had the time.

What a great little Miss Marple moment! I can just see her giving herself a mental shake and getting on with things.

Yes, this seems very much in character. Especially for the later Miss Marple era that I am reading at the moment.

FYI I did a ficlet based on the first part of the first chapter of The Mirror Crack'd at [community profile] vocab_drabbles: https://vocab-drabbles.dreamwidth.org/166508.html
