It’s a simple porridge, just oats and milk and a drizzle of honey, but Hector looks as proud as if he’s made a feast worthy of a slew of visiting dignitaries.
Andromache catches a single whiff and gags, feeling doubly awful as her husband’s face falls. “I’m sorry, sweetheart,” she manages, nasally through the hand covering her nose, the other propped on her growing belly. “Our son has my sense of what’s good all turned around.”
“I understand.” Hector looks down at the food like doesn’t know what to do with it.
“Help yourself. And thank you, my love, really.”
