Nigel didn't approve of blind faith. Not knowing what you were doing got you killed on adventures. However, he definitely appreciated concrete results and the preacher did seem to have some kind of powers that had to be drawn from somewhere. Not only could he heal wounds and diseases faster than normal medicine allowed, those records he made of Nigel's adventures were some kind of anchor for a contingent teleportation or time magic or something that had saved his life countless times. Besides, the little icon of the Goddess he wore around his neck looked an awful lot like Friday.
