Eirika ran to Ephraim's side as he dismounted and kissed him on the cheek.
"Welcome home," she said softly, smiling as he pulled her close. He'd only been away for a week, but...
The next kiss she'd give him, once far away from the gaze of others, would be far less innocent.
"It's been quiet?" Ephraim asked.
"Quiet and calm," Eirika replied. It had been a perfect week, really, aside from her brother's absence. "I wrote everything down; it's all on your desk."
She suspected she'd soon be on his desk as well.
It was good to have Ephraim home.
