In my quest to find the perfect pair of braces for Easter, I believed I had found the ideal set, fun but still somewhat subtle. I accordingly purchased them and took them home, where I proudly displayed them to Jeeves.
One look at his expression, and I knew I had miscalculated.
"Yes, sir, these would be quite permissable" he said, and for a fleeting moment I thought all would be well, "were you still in the nursery. However, wearing braces on which are displayed what, at the time, you would have called 'lambikins' will not be acceptable to Mrs Travers."
