Zeke found Casey under the bleachers. Covered with a slimy mess, his body strangely twisted, uncountable little scars in his face. For a moment he was sure, that killing the alien queen had been Casey's death, and he felt tears burning in his eyes.
He had never cared much about Casey, had overlooked the daily bullying and teasing; the boy was only a pathic geek. But tonight he had turned into a hero who had saved the world.
„I'm so sorry.“
„No...t your... fault.“ The words barely audibly but Zeke felt a tremendous relief rushing through his body.
