“Is your bag wriggling?” Much asked.

Guy looked surprised.  “No!”

“Let me see,” Much demanded.  He took the bag, opened it and two small kittens mewed at him.

“Kittens?” Much said.  “Really, Guy.”

“They’ll keep the mice down.  And they’re very sweet.”  Guy took the kittens out and put them gently on the floor.  He waved a small stick in front of them and they pounced on it.  Guy laughed.

“At least tell me you didn’t have to pay for them,” Much said.

“Oh no.  Sir Roger said if I liked them that much I might as well have them.”
